Fear Factory 'Obselete' CD Launch
Martyr, Pathogen, Sacritual, Enforce
Taken from the Western Front Page - 24th July '98
Nearly everyone present was talking about the next band,
the time had come for the long awaited
return of Pathogen.
I managed to have a quick talk with the new vocalist Justin who
assured me that, aside from having a
slight sore throat, he was pumped and ready to punch out some serious
vocal noise. No butterflies
were present here i can assure you. It has been almost six months
since Pathogen impressed us at the
launch of their brilliant "Nightfall" demo, which is slowly
becoming one of Perth's best selling metal
demos. Sporting a new front man in the form of Justin Norton, the
expectations were high,
and i can proudly say, i think on behalf of everyone who attended,
they didn't disappoint.
Moving away from the original Pathogen blistering black
style vocals, and moving towards, or
should that be down, to the more brutal death style vocals, Justin
certainly proved he was worthy his
newly acquired occupation. The reaction to this new sound was one
of awe.
No-one was aware of the brutality that was to present itself
throughout the Pathogen set.
Throught the set, which consisted of material from both of Pathogen's
demos and other material, the five members of Pathogen put
on a
brilliant, un-forced show which was a tribute to themselves, after
months of searching for vocalist while still concentrating on
rehearsals and personal committments. The intensity that was present
on stage was testament to this brilliant young band. Each band
member was one hundred percent focused on producing the best
possible performance, and they did that in true metal style.
