'Nightfall' Revue
Taken from Deathflsh Fanzine - Winter '98
.
.
Recorded in '97, Pathogen's Nightfall sure as hell impressed us
here at Deathflesh. It's got great productions for a demo and the
songs are really well put together. This is one of those bands
whoses tunes will stay in your head for a long time.
Musically it sounds, well it sounds...like Pathogen really.
It's
melodic but not of the pussy drand of melody. Nightfall still
gives you quite the proverbial ass kicking, with a nice range of
tempos.
Bleed My Soul Pt. II is a rather nice acoustic song that ends the
demo nicely. Personally, I really like the end of Bleed My Soul
Pt
I. It sounds very European and Swedish sometimes. Pathogen is
quite original with their music and is a step in the right direction
for the Perth Scene.
The guitar solos are also really catchy, (I guess that's how to
put
it) it's catchy metal. The lyrics are also very good, with a bit
of
personal experience written in song form. All of this demo flows
together nicely. Other highlights from Nightfall include the title
track Warchild but overall, this demo is of high quaility metal.
The main reason that this is our feature recording is simply
because it blew us away. Razor sharp, cutting sick sort of metal!
The is a good local demo that is very worthwhile purchasing.
Don't forget to catch them live either. The band is one of our
death metal hopes of the Perth metal scene.
