ENTOMBED 'Put Another Nail In The Cross'
Tour - Perth Show
The Look Out
Tuesday, 14th April, 2004
Entombed (Sweden) supported by PATHOGEN
"Local metal purveyors Pathogen broke the seal on the evening and it has to be said, these guys have outgrown the local scene. Tracks like Eviscerated and Shallow were delivered with precision and a crushing conviction, emphasizing the need for the next move in the band's career path to be made and to be made soon. My Little Cow showcased Cain Cressal's versatility as a throat-man able to create a synergy of styles, drawing comparisons to diverse sections of the heavy music field such as Carcass's Jeff Walker or ex Cannibal Corpse (now Six Feet Under's) Chris Barnes. Pathogen delivered yet another national class showing in another local support slot. Fingers crossed their upcoming full length will establish the band in their own right, affording them bigger and better opportunities abroad."

"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to...PATHOGEN, yes 7 years in the making made obvious by one of the most popular metal bands in Perth. Starting off with all the killer songs like Shallow, Beyond Repent and others it really got the crowd going hard. Their brutal style, but with a ton of melody to come down and knock you out, I firmly believe these guys arent as much of a force as they could be. This show was just a appetiser for the Opeth gig, Id say alot of people that will be at the Opeth gig have not heard Pathogen before and Ive got one warning for them, get ready to mosh hard. Overall a great gig back at the Raffles, and one more thing to look forward to from Pathogen will be the full length CD they are currently recording."

"One question: why isn't Pathogen a global force? Here is a band dwelling under tradition yet still wandering a contemporary track with brutal efficiancy. In short, there's plenty to latch onto - a heap of melody minus the cheese, many layers save for the vegies and first class musicianship. These guys are the finest in local destruct-core - end of story."

BLACK STEEL 'Destructor' CD Launch
Globe Theatre
Friday, October 12, 2001
Ravenshead, Voyager, PATHOGEN, Black Steel, Hypercenter
"But with all Voyager's talk of warriors and battle, the audience was
well and truly fired for a metal fight. Pathogen offered that and more,
veering from the glam to a deeper and darker breed of black metal, but retaining
the melody. The vocals were violent over layers of innovative modern metal
riffs. And by golly it was heavy, stuff that hearing-impaired lawsuits are
made of. Yet Pathogen gave a peek into their softer side also, the land
of the smooth metal ballad - ah, why is it always the hardest of rockers
that write the most delicate of tune? Give them a funky haircut and those
Metallica boys had better watch out."
