Pathogen
'Nightfall' Demo Launch
Raffles Hotel - Friday the 13th of February 1998
Pathogen, Nebula, Kin, Samain, Choke, Plague
Taken from Xpress Magazine - 19th Feb 1998
This was the long awaited gig that would blast the cobwebs out of a lazy metal
scene. It was an event to mark the release of Pathogen's second demo, 'Nightfall',
and those boys sure know how to throw a heavy gig.
The pitch fever of the evening welcomed the five members of Pathogen on to the stage. Their efforts and hard work leading up to this moment were congratulated by the 400 plus punters that had turned out to celebrate the occasion with them.
Featuring blistering vocals courtesy of Tim, sharp technical guitar workby axegrinders Dave and Aidan, thunder pumping bass from Louis (aka Jesus) and the accented skin pounding by Gavin, Pathogen worked their way through Warchild, Bleed My Soul, My Little Cow, and others off their Nightfall demo.
With the average age of this band being only 19, Pathogen
compete with other bands within the genre with an added edge, they're driven
by a more contemporary metal sound that is new, fresh and proving to be the
new flavour in what makes great metal. Still, their road is long and wide,
and judging by the progression between their two released demos, they are
definitely progressing at a healthy rate.
Playing hard and with lots of heart, Pathogen broke it off with the title
track off their demo, Nightfall, before coming back to rock us one more time
with an encore.
As heroes fade we are introduced to the new ones.
They be Pathogen...
